State of Affairs - Issue Number One

It's happened many times that on various subjects, I had a different conclusion and opinion and emphasized it, despite the fact that the other party took neither my words nor me seriously, and essentially nothing was proven to them. Sometimes, if they did me a favor, I would be mocked or labeled with various tags.

Time-bound stories until their reality was revealed. Conclusions of the "and it is better for you" kind. Evidence-based predictions that apparently are not as obvious as I thought.

That getting such and such item for the house is useful. That doing such and such is better because in the near future, what we are doing now won't work. That so-and-so is a right person or isn't.

And in the end, it took a long time for them to reach the same conclusions. Sometimes so long that it was completely forgotten that I had said this earlier and no one paid attention. Sometimes this conclusion was so obvious that they offered me a smirk upon being reminded of my words. As if they forgot that the one who let reality slip and escape from their hands was them, not me. And sometimes it would get so late that they discredited me for not saying it.

I didn't say these things because they are a source of encouragement and pride. That I am born of a prophet. On the contrary. These are entirely a cause for anger and frustration. I said it to say that every time they or their memories pop up, their yield was nothing but doubt. Doubt in myself that sprouts and takes root in a way that shuts my mouth. So much so that at the time of giving an opinion, silence filled to the brim with doubt and embarrassment is preferable to any praise and compliment for me.

A note: I decided to call these kinds of writings State of Affairs. Writings that, like the rest of the blog posts, I write in the Agora channel first. These posts have neither a summary nor a specific title. It's not even the first time I'm writing these, but well, since this is the first time I've used this hashtag for them in the channel, I decided to consider this post as number one and from now on name all of them State of Affairs - Issue number whatever.
