What is counted
This site counts visits with Umami, an open-source analytics tool that runs on the author's own server. It sets no cookies and does not try to identify you. For each visit it records the page, the page that sent you here, your browser, operating system, device type, screen size, language and an approximate location (country, region and city) worked out from your IP address. The IP address itself is not stored.
Session recordings and heatmaps
Every visit is recorded as a session replay of scrolling, clicks, mouse movement and page changes, and clicks and scroll depth are drawn as heatmaps, so the author can see how pages are read. Everything typed into a form field is masked and never recorded.
Events
Some actions are counted as events: the length (not the text) of what you search for, the host of an outbound link you click, the target when you share a post (LinkedIn, Telegram or copy link), switching the theme or the language, and how far you scroll (25, 50, 75 and 100 percent). Using the RSS links, the library folders and items, the reading mode and the translation button is counted too.
Page speed
Your browser reports how fast each page loaded (the Web Vitals timings LCP, INP, CLS, FCP and TTFB) to the same Umami.
Vercel Analytics
The hosting provider, Vercel, also counts page views without cookies.
Cloudflare
Cloudflare proxies every request to this site, so it handles your IP address and the pages you ask for as the connection passes through it.
Where it is kept
Umami data is kept on the author's server, Vercel's data with Vercel, until it is deleted. Nothing is sold, shared or used for advertising.
